So this is going well.

So yeah, i just re read my last post and I realised I said I was going "to get back on it" that was two years ago, and not a single post since, tbh I don't know why I was too busy to write, well hopefully this time it might change.

So whats new in two years? I left my job and I have basically turned my back on designing, the job I had two years ago that I was super excited about basically killed design for me and ever since I just haven't had any idea to get back involved, this may be short sighted and foolish, however I have worked solidly as an extra and I prefer doing that by miles and I hope to go to drama school now so really its all change.

This doesn't mean that I don't still love design, I very much do and this blog will still feature bits of design that interest me. However its going to include a lot of other things (as long as I continue to actually write this... the jury is still out). For now let me just write down what I have worked on since leaving Tasty. Ive worked as a model for two clients, and have been a special action performer on 5 films, Its been super interesting and fun.

So thats it, in a nutshell, lets hope I continue to write this blog.

Time to get back on it.

So after a few months of absenteeism, I have finally got back on the blog, to fill you in on my antics would be slightly self serving, but as its my blog and that really is the point of these things I may as well do it anyway. I have been on summer after graduating CASD Graphic Communication, I attained a 2:1 which I'm pretty chuffed with and I have managed to get a job.

Thats pretty much it, my summer has been filled with the standard capers of a 22 year old who lives by the beach, in short I went to the beach a lot. I've pretty much spent 5 out of 7 days a week with my friends, juggled family issues around that and had all in all a pretty good time. This last month I have been doing a work placement at Tasty Marketing, a small marketing firm based in Poole, which has now turned into a job opportunity that I am looking forward to starting in mid November. As for between then and now, I am just about to start filming a new film as an extra which will be quite an exciting thing also.

So a new chapter in this blog and my life is just about to begin, I intend to post stuff about what's going on in my life, as well as stuff that I think is good in the design world also, as well as anything that vaguely interests me. So keep involved and keep checking (all you four followers out there).

New Star Wars Addidas advert.

While watching the shocking England game this evening I was treated to a brilliant new advert by Adidas for the new Star Wars inspired Adidas clothing, while I'm not a fan of the products I am a big fan of the advert, it seems unlike Nike who use Wieden and Kennedy to make their ads, Adidas contacted Lucasfilm and produced it themselves in conjunction with George Lucas himself.

Anyway its pretty impressive and continues a run of really good adverts by Adidas. Enjoy.

A Brief Introduction.

The purpose of this blog is to provide a place for me to share my thoughts on pretty much anything i find while trawling through the net, wasting time on the sofa or generally going through life while training to be a designer, sadly this level of "luxury" is quickly coming to and end and graduation is looming just round the corner, this has led me to the small matter of a lot of self reflection... the second more serious purpose of this blog.

Part of my 3rd year requirements is to complete a reflective journal, the first part as i have explained are my blog posts on pretty much whatever i fancy and the second are a number of self assessments and reflections. about my time at uni and as i have grown as a designer. So under the label of "Reflective Journal" all these self assessments, personal statements, and a PDF download of my portfolio will appear.
